MEP–02 · Service
Mechanical and HVAC engineering
Heating, cooling, ventilation and plant design developed from verified loads, operating profiles, energy criteria and spatial constraints.
MM / MEP–02A performance-led HVAC strategy with verified loads, coordinated plant and distribution, maintainable access, defined controls and clear criteria for selection, review and commissioning.
Scope of service
Defined outputs, interfaces and stage responsibility.
The final scope is matched to the procurement route, available information and design responsibility. Unconfirmed inputs are held as project risks rather than hidden assumptions.
Scope
- Heating and cooling-load assessment
- Ventilation and indoor-air-quality strategy
- Thermal comfort and overheating review
- Plant selection and energy-source options
- Ductwork, pipework and hydronic design
- Controls, zoning and sequence-of-operation input
Project stages
- Feasibility and utility review
- Concept system selection
- Detailed calculation and coordination
- Tender documentation
- Construction and commissioning support
Typical deliverables
- Load calculations and ventilation schedules
- Psychrometric analysis
- Plant and equipment selections
- Schematics and layouts
- Pressure-loss calculations
- Controls narrative and commissioning criteria
Critical interfaces
The design is controlled at the points where disciplines meet.
Envelope performance and glazing
Acoustic criteria
Electrical capacity
Drainage and condensate
Fire and smoke control
Access, lifting and replacement routes
Standards and review
Issue only what can be traced and checked.
Relevant CIBSE Guides, BS EN standards, BSRIA guidance, applicable Georgian requirements and ASHRAE criteria where the project basis adopts them.
Design temperatures, diversity, occupancy, operating hours and resilience assumptions are recorded before plant is selected. Vendor data is checked against the project duty rather than accepted as the design basis.
Relevant sectors
Applied where the operational brief shapes the engineering.
Appointment questions
Clarify responsibility before work starts.
Will Milli MEP select the final equipment?
We can define and review the technical selection within the agreed appointment. Procurement, vendor warranties and contractor substitutions remain separate responsibilities unless expressly included.
Can an existing HVAC design be independently checked?
Yes. The review scope can cover loads, system selection, plant duty, pressure loss, spatial coordination, controls and maintainability.
How are energy targets treated during system selection?
The adopted targets, operating profile and assessment method are recorded in the Basis of Design so that option comparisons and final selections remain traceable.
